Front-End Designer 2011 - 2012 Flipboard partners with major publishers from around the globe, to bring their content to iOS and Android devices in a stunning, clutter-free format. For 15 months, I worked as a contractor, with the design team at Flipboard, and publishers around the globe, executing their brands on this award winning platform. Much of this challenge, was akin to responsive design in the inverse; we knew the screen size constraints of the devices, but had widely variable sizes of text and image content. Our solution involved designing, and coding, 60 - 90 layout templates for each publisher, to accommodate for the large range of possible content sizes, and screen resolutions. In addition to being a favorite app of Steve Jobs, and featured in all Apple stores around the globe, Flipboard received 3 Webby awards during the time I worked on the platform. I was a contractor, via the creative agency MESS, based in Chicago.
